Position Objective: This role provides direct patient care, acts as a resource for one or more surgical specialties, and demonstrates basic patient care, surgical asepsis, and case preparation skills.

Essential Job Duties:

• Maintain a sterile environment for patients and the OR team, following operating room protocols.
• Transport patients and specialized equipment safely.
• Assist with intra-operative patient care using physician preference cards, organizing and prioritizing activities based on patient and environmental needs.
• Function as a first scrub in various cases including general, GYN, ENT, plastics, minor ortho/neuro, dental, urology, vascular, and demonstrate proper care of instrumentation.
• Perform surgical skills independently such as opening supplies, gowning and gloving, patient positioning, and cleaning procedures.

Educational/Experience Requirements:

• Graduate from an accredited surgical technologist program or equivalent, with at least 125 procedures as first scrub.

License/Certifications:

• American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification.
