Position Objective:
Evaluate pediatric through geriatric patients for Speech Language Pathology services, providing therapeutic intervention specific to the individual needs of the patient. Complete interventions and documentation according to regulatory and departmental standards.
Job Duties
- Conduct therapy evaluations and treatments using a variety of appropriate techniques and document according to policies and procedures.
- Participate in department or hospital initiatives for the community as appropriate.
- Cross‑cover by evaluating and treating patients with diverse diagnoses in various units.
- Engage in departmental process improvement initiatives (huddles, metrics, innovative ideas).
- Meet departmental productivity standards and complete productivity logs in a timely manner.
- Participate in quality and patient safety initiatives, providing excellent customer service and following ICARE.
- Attend interdisciplinary meetings, departmental in‑services, evidence‑based journal reviews, and AAMC‑funded continuing education courses.
- Provide technical supervision, direction, and support to staff Therapist Assistants, Rehab Aides, students, and volunteers.
- Consult with and serve as a resource for physicians, nursing staff, and other clinicians, using clinical decision‑making skills to triage caseloads and solve patient care issues.
- Perform administrative tasks as needed (e.g., patient scheduling, staffing matrix completion).
- Master’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology.
- Acute care or related experience preferred; new graduates may be considered based on staffing needs.
- Current license in Speech‑Language Pathology by the Maryland Board of Audiology/Hearing Aid Dispensers/Speech and Language Pathologists.
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence with the American Speech‑Language Hearing Association.
- Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS CPR certification.

Pay Range$50—$55 USD
