Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Permanent Position Summary

Provide skilled occupational therapy services under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist. Help patients improve functional abilities, independence, and participation in daily activities through individualized therapeutic interventions.

• Implement treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist.
• Provide therapeutic activities to improve strength, coordination, mobility, and daily living skills.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and functional tasks.
• Monitor patient response and progress during treatment.
• Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, safety, and home programs.
• Assist with adaptive equipment and techniques to promote independence.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Communicate patient progress and concerns to the Occupational Therapist.
• Follow patient safety, infection-control, and clinical standards.

• Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Current and active state COTA license or certification.
• Previous clinical or rehabilitation experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and patient-care skills.
• Ability to work effectively under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
