Sr. Oracle Database Administrator

Education

Bachelors degree in related field or equivalent experience

• Install and configure Oracle software and related products.
• Develop and execute plans to apply Oracle upgrades, maintenance, and security patches.
• Maintain optimum production environments and review/implement NIST security settings for Oracle environments.
• Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures.
• Install and configure Oracle Grid Control Server; perform database tuning, performance monitoring, and capacity planning.
• Perform database migrations to newer versions of the software and migrations from different platforms to Oracle.
• Develop and implement automated scripts for performance data collection and database monitoring.
• Perform analytical research of database architecture to identify areas of performance improvement.
• Analyze and troubleshoot queries, and recommend performance improvements.
• Support data migrations and user administration.
• Implement database changes and updates for application releases following established procedures.
• Communicate with customers, server administrators, and developers.
• Perform as backup DBA for Sybase and/or MS SQL systems.
• Set up and maintain database documentation and standards.
• Work in a team environment and provide 7x24 support as required.
• Respond to problems quickly, determine root cause, and document recommend corrective action.
• Provide additional assistance as required.
