This role oversees all daily retail operations—including customer service, staff development, financial performance, inventory oversight, compliance, and general operations in accordance with state regulations and Nirvana Cannabis policies.

You will lead by example, driving results through effective performance management, employee recognition, and when necessary, corrective action.

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Recruit and onboard top talent by conducting interviews, making hiring decisions, and ensuring a smooth training process for all new retail employees.
  • Create and manage staff schedules to ensure appropriate coverage during regular hours, special events, and peak traffic times.
  • Conduct thoughtful performance evaluations, providing consistent feedback to promote professional growth and accountability.
  • Handle corrective actions and terminations professionally and in accordance with company guidelines and employment law best practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Lead and oversee all day‑to‑day dispensary operations, ensuring smooth functioning of both sales and inventory processes.
  • Build and maintain a high‑performing team by setting clear goals, mentoring staff, and holding regular performance check‑ins.
  • Coach employees through constructive feedback and progressive discipline when needed to maintain a professional, productive working environment.
  • Enforce company policies and procedures to maintain operational consistency and uphold Nirvana’s standards.
  • Drive store sales and customer engagement through strategic planning, promotional activities, and motivating the sales team with goals and incentives.
  • Ensure accurate cash handling and sales reporting, reconciling daily reports and submitting deposits and documentation per company protocol.
  • Resolve customer concerns and complaints with empathy and efficiency, promoting long‑term satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Deliver a world‑class dispensary experience, ensuring patients and customers receive exceptional service from check‑in to checkout.
  • Conduct regular inventory spot checks to verify product counts and identify discrepancies, minimizing loss and shrinkage.
  • Collaborate with regional leadership and ownership to plan hiring efforts and cost‑effective marketing campaigns.
  • Utilize internal software systems to analyze purchasing trends, evaluate sales performance, and identify growth opportunities.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting retail space, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere that reflects Nirvana’s brand standards.
  • Merchandise products strategically to highlight promotions, seasonal products, and bestsellers.
  • Monitor regulatory compliance proactively, ensuring the store operates within all applicable state and local cannabis laws.
  • Facilitate communication and alignment by leading weekly Manager Meetings and bi‑weekly All‑Staff Meetings.
  • Support company initiatives and assist with additional tasks as needed to meet business objectives.
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage and inspire a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related technology tools for scheduling, inventory, and reporting.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Resilience under pressure, with the ability to make informed decisions and adapt quickly in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Effective leadership and team management abilities, with a proven track record of motivating and developing staff.
  • Customer‑focused mindset, committed to delivering an excellent experience for every guest.
  • Experience in budgeting and expense control, with an understanding of financial principles.
  • Solid understanding of retail policies, procedures, and compliance requirements in a regulated industry.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Business, Business Administration, or related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered).
  • At least two years of experience in a retail management role highly preferred.
  • Completion of Nirvana’s internal Management Training Program (required upon hire).
