Contributes to the provision of high‑quality, cost‑effective healthcare as a provider of direct and indirect patient care and as an essential member of the health care team.
Responsibilities- Clinical Decision Making & Judgment:
Demonstrate nursing knowledge and skill in the specialization of the unit, applying the nursing process effectively in the care of culturally diverse patients and families. - Assessment & Planning:
Consistently and thoroughly assess patients, collect data, identify learning needs, develop individualized problem lists, and create and implement plans of care in accordance with established standards and mutually agreed goals. - Implementation & Evaluation:
Efficiently implement the patient’s plan of care, monitor effectiveness, make revisions, and recommend changes based on patient responses to interventions. - Medication & Pain Management:
Demonstrate proficiency in medication administration, pain management, and other unit‑specific skills. - Nurse‑Patient Family Relationships:
Assess learning needs, readiness, learning style, and barriers; develop, implement, and evaluate teaching plans for patient populations in unit specialty and provide direct care in a culturally, developmentally, and ethically appropriate manner. - Clinical Scholarship & Quality Improvement:
Participate in QI, CPI, and risk‑management activities, applying evidence‑based guidelines and organizational policies to promote safe patient care. - Clinical Leadership & Governance:
Participate in unit shared governance, assist in the education and orientation of new staff, delegate patient care activities appropriately, and evaluate delegated activities for expected outcomes. - Documentation:
Employ real‑time computer documentation when completing patient records.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Adherence to the credentialing requirements of Luminis Health as stated in the nursing bylaws.
- For applicable roles, completion of a BSN within 5 years of hire.
- Current licensure as a registered nurse by the Maryland Board of Nursing.
- BLS – American Heart Association Health Provider.
- For bilingual/multilingual interpreters, certification in medical interpretation is required.
- PALS – required for Pediatrics, Post‑anesthesia Care, Endoscopy, Procedural Care, Interventional Radiology.
- ACLS – required for Heart and Vascular Unit, Neuro Care, ICU/IMU, Interventional Radiology, Post‑anesthesia Care, Resource Nurses, Emergency, Telemetry, Medical‑Surgical Elder Care, Outpatient Infusion, Vascular Access, Observation, etc.
- Chemotherapy / Immunotherapy Certification – within 6 months of hire for experienced staff or within 1 year for new graduates; required for Oncology.
- NRP – Neonatal Resuscitation – required for Mother and Baby, NICU, Labor & Delivery, Women’s Surgical Unit.
- BLS – required for Employee Health, Performance Improvement, Special Pathogens Unit, Neuro Care, Pre‑Anes Testing, Wound Care Center, etc.

Pay Range$34,000 – $54,000 USD
