Job SummaryAs a Commercial HVAC Sales Account Manager you will develop sales, profits, and relationships with commercial and potential government clients. You will manage the quoting process and provide service sales, including maintenance, repair, and replacement packages, and manage the account portfolio. You will work closely with the Business Development Manager, Project Managers, and Engineering Supervisors to realize the sales potential within each existing commercial account.
A high‑level ability to prospect for new business opportunities is expected.
- Establish relationships with prospective clients.
- Seek out and research prospective projects through phone calls, site visits, conferences, the Internet, leads, and existing relationships. Contact the Chief Engineer, Account Manager, Property Manager, and other decision makers to introduce yourself and develop future relationships.
- Work with the Business Development Manager, Project Managers, and Engineering Supervisors to continually review and improve commercial account programs to meet targeted objectives.
- Manage through analysis and solutions‑based programs to maximize sales growth, volume and profitability of account clients in the Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia regions.
- Prepare and deliver client presentations and business proposals.
- Develop, write and review client proposal documents, including financial and technical sections, using EMCOR Service/Combustioneer standard templates and pricing models.
- Develop sales at defined margin levels to attain market share.
- Maintain situational awareness of client pricing and payments, Accounts Receivable management, client correspondence, Profit/Loss reports, quality assurance (QA) support, and industry and trade show participation.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 4+ years of HVAC commercial service and sales experience.
- Relevant technical experience in Facilities Management or Operations and Maintenance is a plus.
- Customer presentation skills and demonstrated sales aptitude.
- Financial acumen.
- Experience with estimating and budgeting.
- Experience in developing technical and cost proposals, can be developed.
- Independent decision making required.
- Comfortable using Excel spreadsheets.
- Must be able to travel within 25 miles of the site.
$95,000 - $125,000 annual salary.
Other CompensationSales commission eligible with vehicle stipend.
