Position Summary

Provide the support necessary for the persons we serve to achieve their desired lifestyles and increase levels of independence, productivity, and social/physical inclusion into the community. This includes developing and assisting with the person‑centered planning process, transport, supervising and implementing daily program activities and community experiences, and completing necessary daily documentation and follow‑up documentation.

Responsibilities
  • Preparation for Change:
    Plan and prepare for changes, listen to individuals' interests, teach community success skills, provide necessary supports, and ensure individual plans reflect their preferences.
  • Community Integration and Participation:
    Assist individuals in planning and participating in community experiences based on their interests and needs, implement person‑centered plans, teach community living and work skills, ensure engagement and safety during activities, and serve as a positive role model.
  • Personal and Health Care:
    Assist and supervise individuals with daily living activities, ensure their safety and well‑being, provide personal and health care support, administer medication accurately, report incidents promptly, and follow all safety protocols, policies, and procedures during shifts.
  • Communication and Documentation:
    Complete accurate documentation, attend required meetings and trainings, support policies and the agency's mission, promote teamwork and problem‑solving, participate in developing person‑centered goals, implement individual plans and behavior strategies, and manage challenging behaviors according to the plan.
  • Managerial Duties:
    Provide daily staffing support, work the same hours as individuals, teach employment skills, serve as a liaison to outside agencies, ensure professional communication, protect individuals' rights, deliver high‑quality job training, and assist employers in supervising individuals at job sites for future independent employment.
  • General:
    Complete attendance reports, submit timesheets and behavioral data, ensure timely submission of required reports, address urgent matters at employment sites, and oversee proper documentation of PCPs and Behavior Plans in the Electronic Health Record System.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College or University and one year’s experience in providing service to adults with Intellectual Disabilities, or a high school diploma and at least three years’ supervisor experience.
  • Must be computer literate and have excellent oral and written skills.
  • Must have strong communication skills.
  • Must be dependable and reliable.
  • Must have basic computer skills and be able to use all required software.
  • Must have ability to problem‑solve and assist in decision‑making, including during emergencies.
  • Must maintain current status regarding assigned core competencies and other required certification acquisition within established schedule and timelines.
  • Must meet the criteria to be an approved driver for the Arc of Prince George's County and have reliable transportation.
  • Must have the ability to work productively with individuals and other team members to develop relationships.
  • Must possess excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills and good customer service skills.
