Position Summary

Pharmacy Technicians at CVS Health deliver compassionate care to our millions of patients every day. You will manage assigned pharmacy workstations and tasks, ensuring that patient prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately while providing caring service that exceeds customer expectations. New Pharmacy Technicians will complete an extensive CVS Pharmacy Technician Training Program and satisfy all registration, licensing, and certification requirements in your state. Once qualified, you will have the opportunity to build clinical, technical, and insurance knowledge and advance your pharmacy career.

Required Qualifications
  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Licensure requirements vary by state
  • Attention and focus: the ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without distraction
  • Customer service orientation: actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner
  • Notice and understand customers’ reactions and respond appropriately
  • Communication skills: use verbal and written communication to interact with customers and colleagues
  • Actively listening: give full attention, ask questions, and avoid inappropriate interruptions
  • Mathematical reasoning: solve problems such as calculating a prescription’s day’s supply
  • Problem resolution: identify when something is wrong or likely to go wrong; choose the best action among available options
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
  • Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
  • PTCB National Certification
Physical Demands
  • Remaining upright on feet, especially for sustained periods
  • Moving on foot to accomplish tasks and move between work areas
  • Picking, pinching, typing, or otherwise working primarily with fingers
  • Extending arms in any direction and bending the spine at the waist
  • Stooping with full use of lower extremities and back muscles
  • Expressing ideas verbally; delivering accurate spoken instructions
  • Perceiving normal‑speaking-level sounds, receiving information orally
  • Visual acuity required for transcribing, viewing a terminal, reading, and inspecting small parts
  • Occasional lifting up to 30 lbs; exerting up to 30 lbs of force occasionally, or 10 lbs frequently

High School Diploma or Equivalent Preferred but Not Required.
