The Certified Medical Assistant I plays a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care by assisting physicians, providers, and nurses. This position is for our practice in Lansdale, Blue Bell, and Pottstown, PA for new headcount support.

Office Hours: 7:30am–4:00pm, Fridays 7:30am–4:00pm, rotating one evening per week

Rotation through all offices required:
Lansdale, Blue Bell, Pottstown, PA

Essential Functions
  • Greet and acknowledge patients in a professional and courteous manner
  • Escort patients to exam rooms and ensure they are comfortable
  • Prepare patients for examinations and complete comprehensive clinical intake
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
  • Perform and document accurate blood pressure, height and weight, and patient temperature
  • Demonstrate appropriate chaperone technique and documentation
  • Assist with patient examinations and office-based procedures (e.g., colposcopy, IUD insertions, endometrial biopsies)
  • Administer medications and injections as ordered by providers
  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens
  • Perform CLIA-waived tests per Axia and Care Center Protocols
  • Enter and send medication and test orders per provider instructions (CPOE)
  • Clean, disinfect, and sterilize medical instruments; ensure exam rooms are clean and stocked
  • Provide information regarding procedures, medications, and follow-up care
  • Respond to patient inquiries in person and by phone
  • Assist with scheduling appointments and follow-up visits
  • Understand how to appropriately perform Nonstress Test (NST)
  • Ensure patient safety within clinical settings
  • Collaborate with physicians, providers, nurses, and staff to ensure efficient practice operations
  • Upon successful completion of competency skills training, assist in office-based surgical procedures (e.g., LEEP, operative hysteroscopy, ablations, D&Cs with or without suction) by preparing the procedure room and supporting providers during surgeries, including post-surgical disinfection
  • Safely assist patients with mobility, including transfers between exam rooms and treatment areas
  • Ensure compliance with SOPs and policies (including HIPAA & OSHA)
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives
  • Adhere to practice policies, procedures, and protocols
  • Demonstrate commitment to the organization’s mission and values; uphold ethical behavior, integrity, and professionalism

Experience and Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Current national certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA)
  • CPR Certification if performing Office-Based Surgeries
  • OB/GYN or Women’s Health experience preferred
  • eClinical

    Works (EMR) experience preferred
