Staff Nurse (Part Time; 3 days a week) – rolling interviews until filled

North Penn School District is seeking a Staff Nurse to provide health care services to students. This part‑time position requires 3 days per week.

Title: Staff Nurse

Reports to: Building Principal and Supervisor of Pupil Services

Takes direction from: Certified School Nurse

Schedule/Calendar: 7 hrs./day, 35 hrs./week (183 days/year)

Summary: The staff nurse is a skilled health care provider who administers first aid and other health services to students as needed. The role demands sensitivity to the health needs of all students.

• Provides first‑aid services to students and school personnel in accordance with district guidelines.
• Administers medications and treatments to students in accordance with the prescription of the student's physician and the direction of the North Penn School District medical director.
• Assists in the execution of the mandated program as directed by the certified school nurse.
• Contacts parent/guardian regarding an injured or ill student.
• Keeps records and other documents accurate and up‑to‑date.
• Confers with the school nurse at regular intervals and with the principal and school nurse coordinator as needed.
• Maintains confidentiality of information regarding students and student records.
• Acts as a liaison between school, home and community in conjunction with the school nurse.
• Collaborates with the school nurse to identify community health resources and to assist students and/or parents/guardians with their use.
• Serves as a health consultant to school personnel together with the school nurse.
• Assists the school nurse in the planning of a healthy school environment to meet the needs of each individual student.
• Assists in the assessment of the social, emotional and physical needs of the students and reports these needs to the school nurse, parents and teachers.
• Follows North Penn School district policies, procedures and guidelines.
• Assists in keeping the health suite clean and orderly.
• Restocks health room supplies and maintains inventory.
• Performs other building duties as directed by the school nurse.

Required: Licensed professional nurse in Pennsylvania

Minimum 2 years nursing experience.

• Valid CPR and First Aid certificate.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, phone etiquette and conflict resolution skills.
• Multi‑task capabilities.
• Ability to work within timelines.
• Ability to support a culture of equity, diversity and inclusion.
