Job Summary

Responsible for executing departmental inventory counts, processing and sorting damaged or defective and/or return‑to‑vendor merchandise, reducing salvage, obtaining return authorizations from vendors, and re‑wrapping sellable merchandise. Works cross‑functionally within departments to complete related inventory control responsibilities.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities
  • Proactively work with department teams to track, plan, coordinate, and execute department inventory counts within assigned deadlines.
  • Follow count processes and procedures.
  • Obtain return authorizations from vendors, process vendor chargebacks, and package and ship merchandise returns per vendor return policies.
  • Maintain correct stock/inventory status for damaged, defective, and returned merchandise.
  • Assess breakage logs for leaking, spoiled, and broken merchandise; process merchandise out of inventory. Handle freezer and dairy damages.
  • Conduct daily club safety walks in the absence of RTV.
  • Understand community donation programs and administer salvage and donation merchandise orders.
  • Execute merchandise protection on designated items.
  • Review daily return reports, process merchandise recalls, and handle tire and battery returns.
  • Re‑wrap sellable merchandise using proper seal and shrink‑wrap packaging guidelines.
  • Ensure department is organized and clean; follow established safety, filing organization, and lock‑up standards.
  • Enter weekly front‑door recoveries into case management system weekly or as directed by AP Supervisor.
  • Maintain all club policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is essential.
Qualifications
  • Successfully complete required training and certification processes.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and computer skills.
  • Basic math skills.
  • At least 18 years of age.
Environmental Job Conditions
  • Most of the time spent moving on hard surfaces; frequently requires bending, climbing, crawling, pulling, reaching, stooping, and climbing ladders/step stools.
  • Frequently requires lifting objects up to 30 pounds; may require lifting and moving heavy and/or awkward objects over 30 pounds with assistance; uses pallet jack.
  • Exposure to indoor/outdoor temperatures and occasional extreme temperatures in freezers and coolers.
  • Frequent exposure to hazardous material.
  • Forklift training skills optional.
Compensation

In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. Pay range starting from $16.00.
