Title: Substitute Security Officer
Reports To: Coordinator Of Emergency Management & School Safe
Takes Direction From: Head Security Officer, Building Principal, Director of Facilities and Operations
Pay Rate: $25.07/hr.
Summary: The Security Officer position provides protection to all persons and safeguards the property and facilities of the North Penn School District within the assigned building.
Essential Functions- Provides protection to all persons and safeguards the property and facilities of the North Penn School District within the assigned building
- Provides service to any student, staff member, or visitor in need of assistance or information
- Provides immediate service to students, staff, or visitors when serious disturbances occur
- Enforces rules and regulations regarding vehicular movement on campus when applicable
- Assists in the enforcement of all school regulations and policies
- Investigates misdemeanors that are discovered or reported on the premises
- Recommends to the appropriate administrators the need to summon local municipal police
- Assists in municipal police investigations
- Maintains daily records and logs appropriate to the security police function
- Follows the responsibilities and duties listed in the North Penn School District guidelines for security staff
- Perform other security of safety tasks as assigned or directed
- High School Diploma
- Police training preferred
- Valid PA drivers license
- Previous police, security, and child supervision / experienced preferred
- Demonstrates sound judgement, decision making, and leadership ability
- Has knowledge of the procedures of local police departments
- Ability to support a culture of equity, diversity, and inclusion

Sedentary: Involves sitting most of the time. Incumbent should be able to exert up to 10 lbs of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects.
Light work: If the use of arm and/or leg control requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the individual sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work. The incumbent should be able to exert up to 20 lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
Medium work: The incumbent should be able to exert up to 50 lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs of force constantly to move objects.
Heavy work: The incumbent should be able to exert up to 100 lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs of force constantly to move objects.
Very heavy work: The incumbent should be able to exert in excess of 100 lbs of force occasionally, and in excess of 50 lbs of force frequently, and in excess of 20 lbs of force constantly to move objects.
