Building Maintenance, Maintenance Worker
Join our team! North Penn Water Authority (NPWA) is seeking a motivated individual who is eager to learn, can work independently and with a team, and strives to consistently deliver high-quality results. The Utility Worker position is a full-time, long-term role, offering opportunities to develop your technical skills.
NPWA provides fully funded, on-the-job training for the requirements of this position, which include obtaining a Commercial Driver's License and PA DEP Water System Certification.
Key DutiesThis is primarily an outdoor position, and includes but is not limited to the following responsibilities:
- Replace, maintain, and repair water mains, working in 3" to 5" tranches.
- Operate and maintain valves.
- Leak detection and marking existing utility locations.
- Ground and landscape repair, including shovel digging.
- Maintain fire hydrants.
- Flagging and traffic control.
- Operate and maintain company tools and equipment.
- Respond to after-hours emergency repairs (compensated accordingly).
- Valid driver's license.
- Prior applicable experience (construction, pipe-laying, plumbing, etc.) preferred, but not required.
- Physically mobile with good balance.
- Able to lift and carry/push/pull a minimum of 75 pounds.
- Able to work in confined spaces, and climb ladders or scaffolding.
