Non-Public School Routing Specialist

Schedule/Calendar: 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week, 261 days/year
Summary:
Plans, develops, and implements bus routes and run schedules for the district fleet. Will route non‑public school bus routes.
Salary Range: $32.92/hour to $36.58/hour
Essential Functions- Evaluates walk routes for all district schools in compliance with DOT and district guidelines and standards for safety
- Manages computerized database information systems
- Assesses and projects current and future district transportation needs
- Provides technical assistance when redistricting is required
- Continuously monitors existing routes for maximum load capacity and route efficiency, makes changes as necessary
- Works closely with non‑public school contacts
- Maintains information for non‑public school students for routing purposes
- Assists with special needs transportation planning and scheduling as needed
- Attends all in‑service training meetings as required by the district and/or department
- Maintains professional behavior at all times with all stakeholders
- Registers non‑public students into the district through Infinite Campus
- Backs up Dispatcher as needed
- Substitutes as a driver as needed
- Additional duties as assigned by supervisor
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Computer experience including but not limited to NT Windows environment, Office applications, transportation routing software, and other applicable software programs
- Proficiency with email
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- PA CDL;
Class B with School Bus and Air Brake endorsement preferred - Personal driving history accident/violation free for a minimum of previous three years
- No record of DUI or felony while operating a motor vehicle at any time
- Criminal record free of convictions as set forth in PA Act 34 and Act 151
- Ability to pass annual school bus driver’s physical as set forth in the PA Motor Vehicle Code
- Ability to accurately document worked time via time clock or timesheets
- Submit to Drug/Alcohol testing as required by Federal and State DOT
- Ability to abide by all district and departmental policies and regulations as written
- Physically able to render aid to students in the event of an accident or emergency
- Must be able to read and speak English

If the use of arm and/or leg control requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the individual sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work. The incumbent should be able to exert up to 20 lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
Medium work:
The incumbent should be able to exert up to 50 lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs of force constantly to move objects.
Heavy work:
The incumbent should be able to exert up to 100 lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs of force constantly to move objects.
Very heavy work:
The incumbent should be able to exert in excess of 100 lbs of force occasionally, and in excess of 50 lbs of force frequently, and in excess of 20 lbs of force constantly to move objects.
