WIELAND’s Project Accountants will take ownership and drive relentlessly to produce a successful project. This individual will support a project team, including correspondence, commitment management, project accounting, risk management, and compliance.
Job Functions- Perform project projections and budget reconciliation with project team monthly, including reconciling between both project management and accounting software.
- Oversee document control as it relates to subcontracts, change orders and insurance for your assigned projects. Includes tracking and compliance.
- Prepare Owner invoices monthly, reconciling job cost, sworn statements and AIA billing documents in a timely manner.
- Prepare and submit monthly fee reconciliations for each project including necessary notes and S-Curves.
- Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of processes and tasks while clearly communicating expectations to others.
- Recognize future problems, perform research, and propose preventative action.
- Assist with project set-up as it relates to the budget and owner contract value.
- Prepare project Start-Up meeting and update as changes occur.
- Receive and review all subcontractor AIA billings monthly. Administer and request revisions or additional documentation required.
- Select subcontractor/supplier check selection for payment when Owner funding arrives.
- Maintain compliance of the Project File for all applicable projects and ensure easy retrieval.
- Communicate any financial concerns or trends to the CFO and Regional Director in a timely manner.
- Coordinate monthly project financial review meetings.
- Coordinate and manage Contract Finalizations and Warranty forms during closeout.
- Perform all follow up duties for lien administration for both subcontractors and supplier waiver tracking and electronic filing.
- Interact with Owner, project team and subcontractors on a regular basis regarding billing questions or issues and daily requests.
- Maintain positive relationships with clients and subcontractors.
- Communicate and provide training and support for all project teams in a positive manner.
- Participate in training and improvement teams.
- Be willing to travel to project sites and other regional office locations/project location.
- Perform additional assignments per Owner and Project Executive’s direction.
- Ability to receive methods for improvement or constructive criticism.
- Maintains and displays company values and culture.
- 5 years of accounting experience or progressive experience in similar role
- Knowledge of contract and financial documents
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Experience with construction, preferred
- Ability to travel as needed
