HVAC Sales and Estimating

Seek a Sales/Estimating Assistant at A-1 Mechanical of Michigan. This entry-level position allows the right candidate to learn vital parts of the Sales/Estimating process and create career growth potential. A-1 Mechanical was established in 1983 and provides HVAC repair, replacement and installation services in both residential and commercial environments. The qualified candidate will perform clerical and administrative functions to drive company success.

This is a full‑time role working with our residential new construction sales and estimating.

Primary Function:
Preparation of bids, estimates and budget on residential new construction and multi‑family construction projects.

• Review construction documents and understand scope of work to bid
• Read and understand salesman notes and specifications to confirm proper paperwork is created
• Provide necessary support to other team members to complete tasks on time
• Create and maintain cordial and collaborative working relationships with superiors, co‑workers, builders and inspectors
• Visit construction sites and observe methods of construction to gain additional insight that will assist in accurately estimating jobs
• Develop and maintain resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, etc.
• Review all estimates with Group Leader or Project Manager to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to formal quotation
• Utilize standard formats for completing the estimates
• Ensure all working documents and data are maintained to back up estimate figures
• File all incoming vendor quotes and subcontractor quotes in the job folder
• Track estimates for status
• Maintain a bid sheet with all pertinent information
• Attend departmental meetings as required
• Maintain regular in‑person attendance
• Other miscellaneous duties as assigned by immediate supervisor

Position is contingent on satisfactory results of background check, drug screen, physical, and motor vehicle record.
