Driven by compassion, inclusivity, integrity, teamwork, and work‑life balance the Athletics Department within the Student Affairs Division is committed to student success by ensuring that high quality programs and services are delivered by a committed and professional team. The Head Cross Country and Track Coach will support program recruiting and selection of student‑athletes. The incumbent’s primary focus is on monitoring student athletes’ academic success, teaching the sport of Cross Country/Track, and developing citizenship to ensure outstanding representation of the College.
Follows rules and guidelines in accordance with NJCAA and MCCAA. Develops preliminary budget, schedule, travel and equipment needs. Responsible for proper use of an LCC company card and for prompt submissions of accurate expense information and receipts. In conjunction with Athletic Director, authorizes expenditures of assistant coaches and ensures that LCC hiring practices are followed. Oversees assistant coaches and ensures they follow LCC policies, procedures and best practices.
Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.
Final candidates will be subject to a criminal background check as part of the employment process.
Required Qualifications:- Associate’s Degree.
- High school Head Varsity Coaching and/or college coaching experience.
- Solid knowledge of Cross Country/Track management, training, and recruiting strategies.
- Valid Driver’s License with less than 3 points.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Coaching at the College level.
- Knowledge of NJCAA rules relating to recruiting and player eligibility.
