Specialized Assistant Resource Room

A Specialized Assistant – Resource Room supports students with disabilities in the ASD Resource Room at the Lansing School District. The assistant builds relationships with students and families, collaborates with teachers to ensure lesson engagement, and maintains a safe, welcoming learning environment.

$20.70/hr – $24.79/hr

Lansing, MI

• Associate’s Degree
• 60 completed college credits
• Proof of passing the ETS Paraprofessional Exam

• Experience working with students in small‑group or RTI settings
• Understanding of how to read and interpret a student’s IEP
• Desire to become a certified teacher long term

• Work one‑on‑one and in small groups with students, especially those with special education needs
• Prioritize tasks as assigned by teachers and school leaders
• Ensure the safety of students on the assistant’s caseload
• Incorporate feedback from leaders, colleagues, students, and professional development sessions to grow professionally
• Build relationships with students and parents to maintain a safe, welcoming, and engaging learning environment
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the school district’s mission
