Universal Preschool Guest Associate Teacher
We are hiring an Universal Preschool Guest Associate Teacher in the Lansing School District, a diverse school community in Lansing, MI. This role supports teachers across multiple Universal Preschool sites, ensuring student safety, engagement, and collaboration with families.
Pay Range$20.00/hr - $23.95/hr (subject to skills and experience)

Responsibilities- Demonstrate passion for working with and empathy of Universal Preschool and GSRP students.
- Effectively prioritize tasks as assigned by teachers and school leaders.
- Ensure safety of students in classroom and comply with Universal Preschool and GSRP requirements.
- Learn and grow by incorporating feedback from school leaders, colleagues, students, and professional development sessions.
- Build relationships with students and parents to ensure a safe, welcoming, and engaging learning environment.
- Other duties as assigned to best support the Lansing School District mission.
- Associate's Degree in early childhood education or related field.
- Valid Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or an existing 120‑hour training approval by MDE.
- Alignment with Lansing School District's mission and values.
- Previous experience working with Universal Preschool or GSRP students in an urban setting.
Physical Requirements
- Stand, walk, and move quickly between indoor and outdoor settings for extended periods.
- Bend, kneel, crouch, and assist with physical transfers or interventions involving students.
- Lift, push, or carry up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Frequent verbal communication to support students, coordinate with staff, and manage emergent situations.
- Occasional use of computers, radios, and other communication or documentation tools.
- May be exposed to noise, weather conditions, and other elements associated with a school environment.

35 hours per week during the school year. This position works at various schools within the District.
