OverviewLighthouse Therapy is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to lead a resource room program in a Detroit, Michigan school. This role focuses on small‑group instruction and individualized support for students with IEPs, helping them succeed in the least restrictive environment.
Responsibilities- Deliver direct instruction aligned to IEP goals in reading, math, behavior, and executive functioning
- Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusion
- Conduct IEP meetings, evaluations, and progress monitoring
- Maintain compliance with IDEA and Michigan’s MARSE guidelines
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with appropriate special education endorsement
- Experience writing and implementing IEPs and BIPs
- Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
- Willingness to commute
