Salary Range: $76,000 - $116,000 depending on experience

The OpportunityWe are partnering with organizations in Lansing that are seeking Tooling Engineers. Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and modify manufacturing tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures.
- Oversee the fabrication, assembly, and testing of new tooling.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for tooling failures.
- Develop and execute preventative maintenance plans for production tooling.
- Collaborate with production and design teams to optimize tooling performance and manufacturability.
- Evaluate and select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes for tooling components.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance tooling life, efficiency, and quality.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 3-5+ years of experience in tooling design, manufacturing, or maintenance within a production environment.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., Solid Works, AutoCAD, CATIA) for tooling design and simulation.
- Strong understanding of various manufacturing processes, including CNC machining, EDM, and grinding.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and metrology techniques.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex tooling issues and implement effective corrective actions.
- Experience with additive manufacturing (3D printing) for tooling.
- Proficiency in FEA (Finite Element Analysis) software for tool design validation.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
- Knowledge of advanced materials science for high‑performance tooling.
