What

You Can Expect To Work On

Niowave is an engineering playground where you will support multiple major programs that directly impact cancer patient survival. The Head of Project Engineering role encompasses leadership, subject matter expertise, operational excellence, and a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement. You will collaborate with the Director of the Project Management/Change Management Office to ensure consistent execution of project management framework, tools, and change management concepts across the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Ensures delivery of high‑quality designs and projects meeting all environmental, health, and radiological safety standards, and in compliance with cGMP regulations
  • Plans, prioritizes, and forecasts work center loading, staffing levels, and contracting
  • Manages budgets for engineering and design operations and projects, including forecasting and controlling expenses
  • Leads and inspires a diverse team of skilled professionals
  • Establishes and maintains a technical direction and supervisory oversight structure for the group, including career progression and succession planning
What You Need To Succeed
  • Bachelor degree in Engineering
  • 15+ years progressive positions in engineering management in a highly regulated environment
  • API pharmaceutical facility design experience and understanding of requirements
  • 10+ years’ experience in capital project management and construction management
  • 10+ years’ experience managing and leading day‑to‑day activities of engineers and designers, providing mentoring and career development coaching
  • Embraces and models the Niowave Core Values of Teamwork, Courage, Integrity, and Upright Zeal
  • Understands how to integrate into a new team/organization – appreciates the history of current state, knows how and when to make suggestions, and uses the right pace to reach an improved future state
  • Understands your own communication and learning styles, can assess others’ styles, and finds the right path to best connect with colleagues
  • Displays excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Professional Engineer License
  • Experience with Solid Works, AutoCAD, MS Project and other project and work planning tools
  • Hands‑on experience utilizing lean manufacturing principles for continuous process improvements (Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, 5S)
  • Knowledge of NRC and cGMP regulations
Great to Have
  • Master’s degree in Engineering
  • Experience with Accelerator and Radiopharmaceutical systems
  • Certification in Project Management (PMP, PMI‑ACP, PMI‑RMP)
