Role DescriptionArcadis seeks an experienced Lead Roadway Design Engineer to join our team in Michigan. As the Lead Roadway Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing roadway design projects from concept to completion. You will lead a team of engineers, collaborate with clients, and ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
This position requires a strong background in roadway design, project management, and team leadership.
- Serving as a professional engineer discipline lead managing roadway design projects, ensuring adherence to project scope, schedule, and budget constraints for projects of varying size and scope.
- Mentoring and providing direction to junior staff and design/drafters, developing project plans and schedules, managing production, and ensuring project compliance with all Arcadis practices including quality and safety standards.
- Interaction with client technical staff, either as a team or individual, making presentations and managing client expectations.
- Performing various roles on multi-disciplined projects including QA/QC reviewer, technical advisor, design leader and/or client facing project manager.
- Preparation of written reports, calculations and other design documentation.
- 7+ years of experience in roadway design and project management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer License (PE).
- Experience with MDOT bid document preparation utilizing ORD and other software.
- Engineering experience with infrastructure design, including extensive preparation of construction plans, technical reports, construction estimates, and project displays.
- Proficiency with Micro Station, Geo Pak, Open Roads, and Corridor Modeling.
- Experience with MDOT design standards, practices, and policies.
- Ability to manage and run meetings and to prepare written reports and meeting minutes.
- Ability to work on and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Experience in a client-facing role, either as an individual or part of a team, making presentations and managing client expectations.
- AutoCAD and Civil 3D skills are a plus.
- Active participation in regional and/or national professional associations.
- Bridge design experience.

Salary Range$90,916 – $112,509
