Basic Purpose and Objective

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our team, focusing on the operation, maintenance, and modification of testing equipment. The successful candidate will work hands-on with mechanical systems, tools, and testing jigs to support product development and quality assurance. This role involves designing, fabricating, and modifying testing jigs and equipment to ensure accurate and efficient testing processes.

Specific

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain mechanical testing equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability during product testing.
• Design, fabricate, and modify testing jigs and fixtures to meet specific testing requirements, using hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments.
• Collaborate with engineers to develop and implement new testing setups, ensuring alignment with project specifications and quality standards.
• Perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on testing equipment to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
• Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications to create or modify jigs and equipment accurately.
• Utilize machining tools (e.g., lathes, mills, drills) and fabrication techniques (e.g., welding, cutting, assembly) to build or customize testing components.
• Document maintenance activities, modifications, and test results to ensure traceability and compliance with company standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
• Assist in the calibration and validation of testing equipment to ensure accuracy and repeatability of test results.
• Support cross-functional teams in troubleshooting mechanical issues and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.

• Associate degree or technical certification in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of experience as a mechanical technician, preferably in a testing or manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers).
• Experience with machining and fabrication processes, including milling, turning, welding, and assembly.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with testing equipment and methodologies (e.g., stress testing, durability testing) is a plus.
• Knowledge of safety standards and protocols in a mechanical or industrial setting.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with engineers and other technicians.
• Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting (e.g., MS Office, CMMS software).
