Bridge Inspection -Team Leader

Collins is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Bridge Inspection Team Leader to play a key role in the expansion of the Michigan team. This position requires the ability to manage projects, consult with clients and government agencies, and direct teams. The role offers a mix of office and field work with some statewide and local travel and provides opportunities for growth within our Michigan operations.

• Supervise above‑water and underwater bridge and ancillary structure evaluation and hands‑on inspection.
• Be familiar and competent with the use of MI Bridge program for MDOT.
• Review, analyze, and provide recommendations on field and/or design issues or adaptations.
• Prepare and monitor project budgets and assist in proposal preparation.
• Accountable for project schedules and timely completion of projects.
• Responsible for standard and intermediate challenging engineering projects in field or office in accordance with plans and specifications.
• Perform simple and complex engineering computations and estimates related to inspection projects and rehabilitation plans.
• Prepare complete engineering plans or reports meeting MDOT Design guidelines.
• Direct and supervise the work of entry‑level engineers, technicians, drafters, and administrative staff.
• Coach field staff on the purpose and processes of inspections and inspection techniques.
• Make independent decisions within a general framework.
• Use computer‑assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
• Demonstrated bridge design experience is a plus.
