We are seeking a motivated and forward-thinking Experienced Buyer to support the procurement needs of a growing electronics manufacturing business. This role is ideal for someone eager to take ownership, grow professionally, and contribute to transforming a company expanding from a $5 million operation to one approaching the $10–12 million mark. You will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing electronic components, custom mechanical parts, and materials for PCB assemblies and electronic products.
You will collaborate closely with Operations, Engineering, and Quality teams to ensure timely delivery of materials, compliance standards are met, and cost‑effective production is supported. Familiarity with any ERP/MRP platform, including Sage MAS 500, will provide a strong foundation for success. This is a hands‑on role in a small company environment, requiring flexibility and a willingness to wear multiple hats.
- Procurement Management:
Purchase electronic components, PCBs, mechanical parts, and custom materials. - Supplier Coordination:
Communicate technical requirements to suppliers and ensure deliverables. - Negotiations:
Negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms for cost and delivery optimization. - Supplier
Qualification:
Assist in evaluating and onboarding suppliers. - Cost Reduction:
Identify cost savings through alternative sourcing or supplier negotiations. - Documentation & Compliance:
Maintain purchasing records and support supplier audits. - Cross‑Functional Support:
Address part changes, supplier quality issues, and production needs. - Problem Solving:
Manage material shortages and supplier constraints.
- 3–5 years of experience in purchasing/buying electronic components or PCB assemblies, and custom mechanical parts.
- Ability to read and communicate technical drawings to identify cost savings.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and supplier management skills.
- Experience using MRP systems for purchasing and inventory management.
Skills & Qualifications
- Exposure to automotive quality systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Experience with both new product introductions and ongoing production support.
The work environment is quiet and clean, with flexible working hours available between 7:30 AM and 6:30 PM for a 40‑hour work week. The team consists of 37 total employees, with 3 people working closely with this role. The buyer may occasionally need to work with overseas suppliers. Opportunities for professional development, including access to Udemy after six months, are available.
Payand Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.65 – $43.27/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
