The Role:Visual Capture GIS Technician
If you thrive on precision, technology, and turning data into actionable insights, this role is for you. As a Visual Capture GIS Technician, you’ll use cutting‑edge tools—drones, thermal imaging, 3D laser scanners, and GPR—to capture reality and transform it into high‑value deliverables for project teams and clients. Your work will drive accuracy, reduce risk, and shape the future of construction.
Responsibilities- Perform drone flights for photogrammetry, thermal imaging, and visual inspections.
- Operate GPR equipment and interpret subsurface data for structural integrity.
- Conduct anchor bolt surveys using GPS and total stations.
- Process point cloud data for BIM coordination and clash detection.
- Maintain GIS databases and produce maps, reports and visualizations.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to integrate geospatial data into workflows.
- Associate’s degree in GIS, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related experience.
- Expert‑level proficiency in Esri ArcGIS suite.
- FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot certification.
- Hands‑on experience with drones, thermal imaging, and CAD drafting.
- Familiarity with ASPRS standards and 3D laser scanning workflows.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to perform fieldwork.
- Python scripting for geoprocessing automation.
- GIS or NDT certifications.
- Experience with advanced 3D visualization tools.
