The Department of Insurance and Financial Services (DIFS) is seeking an individual to work in public service as an Examiner in the Office of Banking. The right candidate will assist in the examination and ongoing supervision of state-chartered banks and other regulated entities as required by law. Working both individually and collaboratively as a team, you will connect with senior leaders and bank executives to analyze performance, identify and assess risks, and determine solutions to protect depositors, creditors, and shareholders while promoting prudent economic development.

- Assist in the examination and ongoing supervision of state-chartered banks and other regulated entities as required by law.

Note: The Salary listed above is a range, and the final salary is determined by the selected candidate’s education and experience.
Work Location: This is a hybrid position located in the West Region of Michigan, including the areas of Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo
. In-state travel, including overnight, is required, as well as some out-of-state travel for training. You will perform portions of examinations at banking organizations and complete assignments at your official workstation (i.e., home). This position is responsible for examinations in the region – as well as additional examinations at banking organizations located throughout the state as assigned.
Work must be performed in Michigan. If you currently reside outside of Michigan, you must relocate to Michigan to perform the duties of this position. Relocation expenses are not reimbursed.
