Controller - Lansing Area

Salary Range: $125,000 - $175,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all financial reporting, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies.
• Manage the full cycle of cost accounting, including standard cost development, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.
• Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes for manufacturing operations.
• Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure data integrity.
• Provide insightful financial analysis to support operational decision-making and drive cost reduction initiatives.
• Coordinate external audits and ensure timely provision of required financial data.
• Manage inventory accounting, including cycle count programs and obsolescence reserves.

Recommended Qualifications

• Extensive experience (7+ years) in accounting and finance leadership roles within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven expertise in cost accounting principles, including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.
• Strong proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) for financial reporting and operational integration.
• Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal control frameworks.
• Demonstrated ability in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and strategic planning.
• CPA or CMA certification highly preferred.

Bonus Qualifications

• Advanced proficiency in data visualization and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Experience implementing or optimizing ERP systems within a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
• Prior experience with M&A due diligence and integration processes.
