ICHD Ameri Corps Public Health - Health Assessment Specialist

In 2026, the ICHD Ameri Corps Public Health program is offering member positions within the Ingham County Health Department and with partner organizations in the Capital region to address 4 key areas of public health: fostering public health equity, expanding access to healthcare and social services, improving the built environment (with an emphasis on food and housing security), and developing the public health workforce.

The Ingham County Health Department boasts nearly 20 years of institutional experience administering Ameri Corps programs in the region.

• Support the Infrastructure Team in tracking and review of current community engagement/survey data from Southwest Lansing regarding health and its social determinants
• Compile a comprehensive collection of community health assessment and surveys in South Lansing
• Analyze local data to determine the robustness of data used to measure natural, human, social, built, and financial capital in southwest Lansing
• Support the design and implementation of a “live” community health assessment process, including tools, data collection methods, and engagement strategies to expand the amount of up-to date data used in engaging stakeholders across Southwest Lansing; integrate findings into the existing data landscape.
• Contribute to the identification of measurable indicators and metrics related to regenerative health and the social determinants of health that can be monitored by community partners over time.
