About Outpatient ClinicsCorewell Health operates over 300 outpatient clinics across Michigan, bringing a multitude of care options to the communities that we serve. There are over 40 different types of primary care and specialty practices, which allows those who work in these clinics the opportunity to learn and explore various interests or to specialize in one area.
Scope of workMedical Assistants in the spine center provide clinical support in both the outpatient clinic and pain procedure areas. Responsibilities include rooming patients, obtaining vital signs and medical histories, preparing exam and procedure rooms, assisting providers with patient flow, coordinating care activities, and supporting procedural workflows to ensure a safe, efficient, and positive patient experience. The role works closely with physicians, APPs, and nurses.
Qualifications- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Required Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program that includes hands‑on, in‑person clinical skills OR a minimum of one (1) year of experience working specifically in the role of a Medical Assistant, LPN, Paramedic or EMT performing direct patient care and clinical support functions consistent with an MA scope of practice
- Required 1 year of relevant experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting
- Preferred AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
- AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
- NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA)
- NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)
- NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA)
