Infrastructure Solutions Architect Job Lansing area,Michigan USA,IT/Tech

Infrastructure Solutions Architect 3 responsible for COTS project support for the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT). The role involves participating as a technical lead on software application projects, providing technical support, and planning and accomplishing goals with a high degree of creativity and latitude.

Key Responsibilities:

Formulate architectures, including requirements discovery and analysis, solution context, solution alternatives identification and assessment, technology selection, and architectural configuration

Provide technical support to team members, vendors, and users of agency systems

Work closely with client/application architects, senior managers, and project managers to design and assist with the implementation of solutions infrastructure components

Analyze business requirements and define solutions to address complex business needs

Design and operate web infrastructure including IP, HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, load balancing, clustering, failover, monitoring, diagnostics, performance tuning, etc.

Maintain a high aptitude for problem-solving and troubleshooting

Required Qualifications:

8-9 years of experience in the field

Proficient in techniques for formulating architectures

Extensive understanding and experience in distributed platforms, networking, databases, High Availability/Disaster Recovery, and IT security

Experience and skills in prevailing industry architecture and engineering methodologies such as ITIL

Knowledge of a broad range of application servers, web servers, messaging servers, database servers, and related technologies

Strong communication skills both written and verbal, and the ability to lead a meeting
