The Project Manager leads and coordinates work teams using PMI-standard project management methodologies
. This role works closely with project sponsors to drive complex initiatives from charter through completion. The position includes direct oversight of budget, schedule, team performance, and stakeholder engagement within state agencies such as the Department of Labor & Economic Opportunity and the Attorney General s office.
- Design and coordinate work teams using project management industry best practices.
- Create project charter, work plan, and track progress through key metrics.
- Establish project organization, roles, and methodologies.
- Document risks and define mitigation strategies.
- Manage project scope and communication plan.
- Build and lead high-performing teams; assign and monitor tasks.
- Ensure resolution of issues and removal of project barriers.
- Provide technical direction and support to team members.
- Handle complex application features and technical designs.
- Plan and manage system analyst teams when applicable.
- Prepare reports for stakeholders and executive leadership.
- Direct corrective actions for underperforming areas.
- Coordinate with other facilities and business areas for project support.
Required Experience:
- Familiarity with PMI frameworks and best practices
- Experience leading technical and/or public-sector projects
- Comfortable managing deadlines, deliverables, and stakeholder expectations
Nice-to-Have
Experience:
- Experience supporting government departments or public sector clients
- Exposure to environments involving housing development or unemployment systems
- Oversight of multiple simultaneous work streams
Required Skills:
- Project planning and scheduling
- Team leadership and task assignment
- Stakeholder communication and reporting
Preferred

- Risk management and mitigation planning
