As a staff level attorney, the incumbent is expected to handle legal assignments that have significant impact on cases involving child support. The incumbent will routinely handle assignments of varying legal complexity. Under the supervision of the Division Chief and the First Assistant, the incumbent reviews warrant requests, approves warrants, search warrants, investigative subpoenas, MiCSES records, child support payment records, investigative reports, credit reports, internet-based asset searches, draft motions, responsive pleadings, drafts formal and informal legal opinions, and provides day-to-day legal representation for the People of the State of Michigan.
Includes extensive driving and frequent court appearances including Probable Cause Conferences, Preliminary Examinations, Pretrials, Hearings, and Trials.
Possession of a Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited school of law.
Experience Attorney‑Staff P15No specific type or amount is required.
Attorney‑Senior 16Four years of post‑bar admission legal experience.
Special Requirements , Licenses, and CertificationsMembership in good standing in the Michigan State Bar.
