Position: Laborer Agricultural I

Position Summary (Basic Job Function):

This is a temporary position responsible for performing and assisting in routine agricultural labor.

Unit Position Summary

Move, load, and unload supplies, materials, tools, and equipment.

Assist with cultivating and harvesting field crops.

Assist in erecting fences, gates, sheds, and related agricultural facilities.

Operate tractors and trucks with attachments such as plows, discs, drags, and cultivators.

Lubricate and assist with routine maintenance of farm equipment and machinery.

Clean barns, sheds, pens, and related agricultural facilities.

Assist with the loading, hauling, and spreading of manure using solid and liquid spreaders.

Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Summary of Health Risks

Drive a university vehicle that requires a commercial license.
Wear a respirator (not including a paper mask designed for comfort).
Work in a noisy area (at or above 85 decibels).

Summary of Physical Demands

Lifting and carrying up to 75 pounds.
Pushing up to 1000 pounds using farming equipment.
Climbing silos and farming equipment.
