Job Summary

Level 3 Maintenance Tech:
Responsible for activities regarding design, construction, modification and maintenance of equipment and machinery in manufacturing so that throughput, inventory and operating expense objectives are achieved. Inspects and repairs machinery and equipment based on operating parameters, according to engineering principles and safety regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment and plan for and take corrective action. Make necessary corrections and equipment adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment that is not scheduled for manufacturing to reduce downtime.
  • Perform tool changes and set up in a timely manner.
  • Provide production support.
  • Perform waterjet tip changes and rehoming of robots; perform coil changes on waterjets.
  • Responsible for process set-up of press lines; rebuild Normally Closed/Normally Open (N/C-N/O) waterjet valves.
  • Thread and install black pipe and PVC; rebuild ISO/Poly pumps.
  • Perform troubleshooting; diagnose hydraulic/hose fittings and repair/replace as needed.
  • Make and replace high pressure lines, including bending and threading.
  • Basic electrical machine repair (e.g., heater/oven bulb replacement, sensor replacement).
  • Make hydraulic and chemical hoses using hydraulic crimping tool.
  • Test newly installed or refurbished machines and equipment to ensure fulfillment to specification and safety.
  • Notify supervisor of recurring equipment malfunctions, quality problems, and supplies needed.
  • Train and guide maintenance personnel in other classifications; document equipment breakdown/activity and provide reports; use reports to analyze opportunities for improvement.

Note: Ensures timely and accurate recording of maintenance activities and utilizes computerized maintenance management programs; maintains detailed recordkeeping to support the maintenance management system.

Qualifications
  • High school graduate, with technical school degree or equivalent training/experience.
  • Journeyman Electrician license preferred;
    Master Electrician license or equivalent.
  • Minimum four years of maintenance experience in the automotive industry.
  • Three to five years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in automotive interior systems.
  • Solid understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical and electrical.
  • Complete understanding of all press lines and processes; able to operate all machinery.
  • Proficient troubleshooting skills; strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to make independent or group decisions; basic understanding of electricity (three-phase).
  • Strong welding skills (MIG).
  • Ability to understand, identify and use hydraulic crimping devices; comfortable using hand tools.

Inspects and repairs machinery and equipment per operating parameters, engineering principles and safety regulations.

  • Adhere to plant safety requirements; analyze problems and implement corrective actions to maintain maximum production and quality.
