The Food Services Cashier supports daily café operations by providing excellent customer service, accurately processing transactions, maintaining stocked service areas, and assisting with opening and closing procedures. This role helps ensure an organized, efficient, and welcoming environment for all customers.
Duties and Responsibilities- Provide friendly and professional customer service
- Accurately operate the cash register and process badge and cash transactions
- Maintain accurate cash handling with minimal discrepancies
- Verify customer identification when required and elevate payment issues as needed
- Stock and rotate café items (grab-and-go, snacks, beverages) using proper FIFO methods
- Price and mark down items as needed
- Restock utensils, paper products, cups, and beverage station supplies
- Maintain cleanliness of register and service areas
- Complete daily opening and closing procedures
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries during downtime
- Other duties as assigned
- At least 18 years old
- Customer service oriented
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers
- Excellent organizational skills
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Stand and walk for extended periods
- Frequently use hands to handle, grasp, and feel objects
- Reach with hands and arms
- Frequently stoop, kneel, and crouch
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds

This position operates in a kitchen and cafeteria setting within a professional office environment. The kitchen area may be hot, floors may be slippery, and noise levels are typically moderate but can occasionally be loud.
