Armed Security Officer
Location:
Greater Lansing, MI
Pay: $19.50–$21.00 per hour (rates vary by work site)
Hours:
Part‑time (16–36 hours per week based on availability).
Shift openings:
Mon – Sun (various days), 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts. Weekend availability required. Overtime may be available.

Responsibilities- Customer Service:
Be a positive reflection of the company by assisting client staff, visitors, and coworkers while maintaining a professional demeanor. - Observe and Report:
Stay alert and be on the lookout for any suspicious activities and incidents. - Security Presence:
Maintain a professional appearance and stand guard in and around building lobbies, reception areas, and control centers. - Conduct foot and/or vehicle patrols of assigned areas performing security officer duties as required.
- Access Control:
Ensure unauthorized persons do not enter restricted areas, check employee and vendor IDs, and follow proper access procedures. - Safety Patrol:
Ensure a safe and secure environment for all employees and visitors, enforcing policies and procedures of the assigned location and reporting any safety concerns. - Emergency Response:
Be ready and able to assist in emergencies, including administering CPR/First Aid/AED care and communicating with emergency personnel using proper protocols. - Security Liaison:
Maintain professional communication with client staff, follow through on client requests, and keep the site supervisor/operations manager updated on all client communications. - Other duties as assigned.
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
- Must be a current holder of a valid, unexpired Michigan CPL.
- Must have either a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must be of good moral character and pass a criminal background check without felony convictions or disqualifying misdemeanor convictions.
- Must be able to pass a psychological evaluation.
- Must be able to successfully pass a drug test at the time of hire and annually thereafter.
- Must present a friendly, positive, professional image, adhering to our Appearance and Grooming policy.
- Must possess excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must be able to read and write in English and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating procedures, maintenance instructions, and reports.
- Intermediate computer skills required.
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and work indoors or outdoors in any weather for 8–12 hours at a time.
- Must be able to lift 70 lbs.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Michigan Concealed Pistol License (CPL).
