Position Overview
Equipment Operator responsible for controlling and maintaining heavy machinery and equipment, ensuring safety and efficiency on construction sites.
Job Duties and Responsibilities- Operate various pieces of heavy equipment safely, accurately, and efficiently.
- Perform routine maintenance: clean job sites, inspect and lubricate machinery, and conduct general upkeep.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, including obeying traffic laws and participating in weekly safety meetings.
- Load and unload materials or equipment as required.
- Promptly report equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or incidents to supervisors.
- Collaborate with team members to complete tasks efficiently and on schedule, maintaining a professional and courteous attitude.
- Willing to travel and work away from home when required.
- Availability to work nights and weekends when necessary.
- Report to assigned job sites in proper work attire ready to begin at the designated start time.
- Wear required PPE, steel‑toed footwear, and safety glasses.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience operating or working around heavy equipment.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- CDL preferred.
- Ability to pass pre‑employment screening and testing.
- Strict adherence to safety requirements, procedures and PPE policies.
Construction operations performed outdoors, often in extreme weather, with exposure to noise, dust, and moving machinery. Work may involve heavy materials, machinery, and intermittent exposure to vibration.
Physical Demands- Walking, standing, sitting, bending, twisting, kneeling, crawling, crouching, and lifting up to 50 lbs without assistance.
- Use of hands and arms to handle tools and controls.
