Heavy Equipment Mechanic Position Summary

The Mechanic will perform inspections and preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment such as semi‑tractors, trailers, heavy equipment and machinery, including brakes, suspensions, electrical, lighting, and mechanical components.

Responsibilities include:

  • Repair hydraulics, electrical, and other mechanical components.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues to identify repair needs.
  • Prepare and complete required paperwork.
Heavy Equipment Mechanic Qualifications
  • One plus year of related diesel mechanic or related military training.
  • Knowledge of welding and torching helpful, but not necessary.
  • Mathematical and mechanical aptitude.
  • Related experience and knowledge of the methods, materials, tools and techniques used in repairing semi‑tractors & trailers.
  • Strong communication skills, effective communicator.
  • Proven ability to work alone or in a team setting.
  • Attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Demonstrated safety consciousness.
  • Relevant military experience.
