Repair and Tool Technician

Repair and Tool Technician role at The Home Depot. This position is responsible for the evaluation and repair of small engines, outdoor power equipment and handheld electrical devices. Technicians may work in stores with Tool Rental Centers or in repair centers. In-store technicians provide service to Tool Rental customers, which includes writing customer contracts and invoices for equipment rental and tool repairs, verifying that tools operate properly, and demonstrating proper use as needed.

They also support day-to-day operation and maintenance of equipment in the Tool Rental department. In non-store locations, technicians ensure units are repaired, tested for repair quality, and cleaned prior to returning to the store that originated the repair. Technicians must have thorough knowledge of all tools and effectively manage tool inventory by maintaining and repairing tools as necessary.

• Evaluate and repair small engines, outdoor power equipment, and handheld electrical devices.
• Provide service to Tool Rental customers, write contracts and invoices for rentals and repairs, and demonstrate tool use as needed.
• Maintain day-to-day operation and maintenance of equipment in the Tool Rental department.
• Ensure repaired units are cleaned and tested before returning to the originating store.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of tools and manage tool inventory by maintaining and repairing tools as necessary.
