Operations Finance Manager

Beech Valley is seeking an experienced Operations Finance Manager to support financial operations at a manufacturing facility in Lapeer, MI. This role will oversee plant accounting, month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, inventory controls, and financial reporting while partnering closely with plant leadership to drive operational efficiency and cost reduction.

The ideal candidate brings strong manufacturing accounting experience, a hands‑on approach to financial management, and the ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights.

• Lead plant accounting activities, including general ledger management, month-end close, financial reporting, and variance analysis.
• Manage budgeting and forecasting for labor, overhead, scrap, and capital expenditures, identifying key cost drivers and improvement opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.
• Partner with plant leadership and operations teams to evaluate financial performance, improve cost efficiency, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Monitor labor efficiency, overhead spending, and cost per earned hour to identify operational trends and cost‑saving opportunities.
• Oversee inventory accounting, cycle‑count programs, reconciliations, and compliance with corporate inventory control standards.
• Prepare accurate and timely weekly, monthly, and annual financial reports for plant management and corporate finance teams.
• Support strategic initiatives, capital projects, and cross‑functional financial analysis.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
• 5+ years of accounting or finance experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of plant accounting, cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Experience managing month‑end close, general ledger reconciliations, and financial variance analysis.
• Working knowledge of SOX compliance, internal controls, and inventory accounting practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to independently resolve complex financial and operational challenges.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with plant leadership, operations, and corporate finance teams.

• CPA or CMA certification.
• Experience working with SAP ERP systems.
• Experience supporting manufacturing cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Familiarity with labor efficiency metrics, overhead absorption, and cost per earned hour analysis.
