Unit Clerk Nurse Aide – ICU

New Increased Wages! Part Time Day Shift

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, performs the receptionist and secretarial duties on the unit assigned. Meets the communication needs of the patient (family, departmental staff and medical staff). Supports the nursing staff by performing basic nursing care to the patient. Assists and maintains a safe and clean work environment. Maintains patient privacy, dignity, confidentiality, and respects patient’s rights.

• Performs purposeful hourly rounding including:
  Pain, Position, Personal needs, and Possessions
• Promptly answers telephone/call lights in a polite manner and relays pertinent information to the appropriate staff
• Assists nursing staff by making patient beds, giving baths, passing waters, feeding patients, oral care, accurate I & O, ambulating patients, daily weights, vital signs and any other duties assigned by the RN

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Successful completion of a Nurse Aide training program, or 6 months experience as a Nursing Assistant in a Healthcare facility, or completion of fundamentals if enrolled in an Accredited School of Nursing program
• BLS certification within 3 months of hire
• Knowledge of keyboard/computer
• Data entry experience
• Medical terminology knowledge

• Current State of Michigan certification
• Previous work experience or training as a Unit Clerk and Nurse Aide
• Previous data entry experience
