Position at BAART Programs

Per Diem Physician - LaPlace, LA

Summary of Responsibilities
  • Perform professional physician services and administrative duties.
  • Ensure all staff practice Universal Precautions and are aware of emergency medical procedures.
  • Work under operational supervision.
  • Assume medical responsibility for the Clinic and supervise medical services in the Medical Director’s absence.
  • Authorize and supervise dispensing of narcotic replacement therapy and other medications.
Essential Job Functions
  • Provide professional physician services with minimal supervision.
  • Educate patients and counselors on medication use and side effects.
  • Maintain medical records for all patients.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, contractual obligations, and protocols.
  • Conduct quarterly peer reviews.
  • Maintain a valid professional license.
  • Review discharges, dosing sheets, medical records, treatment plans, and dose changes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Effective communication with diverse populations.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Drug rehabilitation knowledge is helpful.
  • Maintain confidentiality and communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team.
  • Attention to detail and good charting skills.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in any residency.
  • 1 year of experience in SUD/Addiction Medicine.
  • Licensed in good standing in Louisiana.
  • Satisfactory drug screening results.
  • Ability to provide comprehensive patient care and referrals.
