Registered Nurse opportunity at River Place Behavioral Health – LaPlace, LA.
Full-time day and night shifts with 12 hr hours and rates up to $42 per hour. Bonuses: $10k for FT days and $15k for FT nights. Shift differentials include $1/hr day shift, $4/hr weekend day shift, $3/hr night shift, and $7/hr weekend night shift.

Responsibilities- Provide and coordinate care by assessing patients’ physical and behavioral health needs.
- Develop and implement nursing care plans.
- Maintain medical records and educate patients and families about physical and behavioral health conditions.
- Provide nursing care and services within the standards and scope of nursing practice as defined by state Nurse Practice Act regulations, policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Ensure physicians’ orders are legible when taken verbally and transcribed appropriately.
- Assess patients’ status continuously and document pertinent information.
- Notify physicians of significant changes in status such as difficulties with detox, medical emergencies, changes in medical status regarding response to medications, and related challenges.
- Complete nursing treatment plans upon admission and ensure they are specific to assessed needs.
- Demonstrate knowledge and use of universal precautions in providing direct patient care.
- Accurately administer medications according to ordered notes.
- Document accurate counts of controlled substance medication administration on required documents.
- Complete admission and discharge processing efficiently and accurately.
- Establish therapeutic rapport with patients while maintaining professional boundaries and respectful detachment.
- Provide direction or coordinate the unit’s activities as directed.
- Communicate therapeutically and professionally with patients, visitors, co‑workers, and others involved in inpatient treatment.
- Graduated from an accredited nursing school.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment or eligibility to practice per state requirements.
- One year of nursing experience; prior psychiatric, mental, behavioral, or substance‑use nursing experience is a plus.
- CPR and de‑escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire).
- First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.
