Paratransit Operator

Overview

Paratransit Operator - Full Time – Transdev North America, LaPlace, LA. Responsible for ensuring safe and comfortable transportation for passengers, while upholding high standards of professionalism and customer service.

Pay: $17.24 per hour

• Safety-Focused Operations:
  Follow designated routes and schedules with strict adherence to safety protocols and traffic regulations.
• Passenger Care:
  Provide exceptional care and assistance to passengers, ensuring smooth boarding, comfortable rides, and timely disembarkation.
• Vehicle Safety and Maintenance:
  Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, report maintenance issues promptly, and maintain cleanliness and safety equipment readiness.
• Adherence to Protocols:
  Enforce company policies, seat belt usage, emergency preparedness, and regulatory compliance.
• Other duties as required.

• 21 years or older
• Valid CDL Class A or B with passenger and airbrake endorsement (remove if not required)
• Minimum 3 years of driving experience (personal or professional)
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work flexible shifts as needed
• Subject to DOT drug testing and physical if applicable; 49 CFR Part 40 compliance with no use of Schedule I drugs

• Work outside in varying temperatures and weather conditions (outside work at times, with potential remote locations)
• Sit for extended periods (6–8 hours), frequent walking, and on uneven surfaces
• Push/pull heavy objects, lift up to 50 lbs, bend/kneel/crouch as needed
• Work in high-traffic areas; tolerate dust, vehicle fumes, and noise
