Position: Dispatcher / Utility Worker

Utility Worker

Transdev in River Parish, La. is hiring a Full Time Driver/Utility Worker/Dispatcher Employee.

The Driver/Utility Worker/Dispatcher Employee is required to perform basic vehicle servicing duties along with driving a bus. Our team values customer service‑oriented professionals who are dedicated to safety. Hours are from 12:30 to 8:30 pm. Duties include driving a bus and performing utility duties at the end of the shift.

What you will be doing
  • Provide door‑to‑door transportation for passengers safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure passengers are properly secured and provide assistance with all entries and exits.
  • Greet passengers, accept fare payment and maintain a safe environment.
  • Properly report all incidents, accidents, mechanical concerns.
  • Complete pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections.
  • Dispatching.
  • Booking rides.
  • Customer support.
  • Other duties as required.
Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the cleanliness of fleet vehicles – interior and exterior.
  • Drive, maneuver and park vehicles.
  • Fuel buses, replenish fluids and log all fluids.
  • Download drive cameras, probes, fare boxes.
  • Perform light maintenance at shop areas, fueling stations and related facilities.
  • Report maintenance issues to supervisor.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license for a minimum of 3 years.
  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible schedules as needed.
  • Subject to DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
Physical Requirements

The essential functions of this position require the ability to: work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions – 100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations; sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces; push and pull objects up to XX pounds, occasionally lift material weighing up to 50 lbs.;

occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level; withstand heavy traffic areas while performing duties of the job; tolerate exposure to dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
