Cardiothoracic Surgeon near Laramie, WY

We are seeking a skilled Cardiothoracic Surgeon for a locum tenens position near Laramie, WY. Position Details:

• Start Date: ASAP
• End Date: Ongoing
• Practice Type: Hospital (Monday-Sunday, all day)
• Callback Percentage:
  • Weekday: 5%
  • Weekend: 5%
  • ER: 5%
  • ICU: 5%
• Caseload Percentage:
  • Adult: 98%
  • Trauma: 2%
  • Hospital: 100%
• Average Hospital Patients per Day: 2
• Admissions: 2 per week
• ICU: 1 patient per day
• Surgeries: 2 per week
• Supervision Required: Yes, supervising a PA on staff
• Other Thoracic Surgeons Present: No

Worksite Resources:

• Lab and X-ray: Onsite
• EMR System: Epic for hospital documentation

Required Procedures:

• General Cardiovascular/Thoracic Surgery: Open and endoscopic
• Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery: On pump
• Valvular Replacement
• Aneurysm Repair: Cardiac, aorto-thoracic
• Lung Resection: Including VATs
• Chest Wall or Pleural Procedures
• Evaluation and Management of Acute Volume/Blood Pressure Issues
• Insertion of Central Line, Arterial Line, PA Catheter, IABP

Preferred Procedures:

• Valvular Repair
• Esophagus and Diaphragm Surgeries
• Ventilation Management
• Bronchoscopy

Credentialing & Certification:

• Board Certification: Cardiovascular & Thoracic (Required)
• State License: Must hold or be eligible for a Wyoming State License
• Additional Requirements:
  • Familiarity with Epic EMR system
  • Ability to work independently and manage a busy caseload
