JOB TITLE:
UW Foundation, Employment Manager or Employment Coordinator
JOB PURPOSE:
Manages Human Resources programs and implements human resources activities, policies, procedures, and training for a division/department and assists upper management as requested, primary liaison to the University HR department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead activities relating to staffing, employee education and training, management development, employee relations, affirmative action, and performance management. Provide management team with HR expertise and information.
- Answer HR-related questions and coordinate with the HR department. Provide consultation with department leaders. May represent department at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
- Develop, plan, and conduct divisional/department onboarding programs for new employees.
- Advise and may counsel employees on matters written in the employee handbook, employee rights and the dispute process; delineate options of action to employees.
- Process HR & payroll actions involving job changes, promotions, transfers, and disciplinary actions. Write separation notices for employees separating from service, and conduct exit interviews to determine the reasons behind separations. Maintain personnel files for administrative professional positions.
- Manage the organizational development, hiring process, training, employee performance process, job reviews and audits for a division/department.
- May supervise and coordinate the reception area and support staff.
- Serve as an expert liaison to the human resource service teams in addressing and resolving issues.
- Attend and represent the department at meetings, events, and other functions.
SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain thorough knowledge of government, University and specialized regulations and policies, which affect personnel and fiscal affairs of the designated area; provide and apply interpretation of regulations and policies.
- Act as liaison to departments, campus administration and outside agencies.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Participate in performance-related goal setting and achievement to meet personal and organizational goals and objectives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Employment Manager:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:
At least 5 years of HR experience.
Required licensure, certification, registration or other requirements: HRCI or SHRM certification (preferred, not required).
Employment Manager Salary Range: $61,000 - $73,200
Employment Coordinator:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:
At least 2 years of HR experience.
Required licensure, certification, registration or other requirements: HRCI or SHRM certification (preferred, not required).
Employment Coordinator Salary Range:: $51,500 - $60,500
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- HRCI or SHRM certification (preferred)
- In-depth knowledge of Human Resources concepts, policies, and procedures.
